Employee of the Month - August 2010

Grant Timentwa

Grant Timentwa is the Tribe’s Geographic Information System (GIS)  Manager in the Planning Division but he is much more than his title indicates. Grant is a member of the Colville Tribe who came west to attend school at the University of Washington.  He has worked for MIT nearly four years and provides support to numerous Tribal Departments.  Grant maintains aerial imagery and parcel data for the reservation and stores electronic files on tribal buildings and  infrastructure.  

Grant utilizes the latest technology in developing maps for Legal, Wildlife and Construction or locating property corners for Reality.  Grant serves as the primary contact for the 2010 Census but most people probably know him from Pow Wows.  Not only does Grant lend a hand in planning and staffing the events, he also sings and drums.  Grant is a valuable asset to the Tribe and the community.
