The Benefits and Risk Management Division provides the following services to all Tribal Entities:
Benefits and Risk Management
The Benefits and Risk Management (B/RM) Division is responsible for coordination and management of comprehensive and cost effective benefits and risk management programs for employees at all Tribal entities. These programs include health, pension, life, disability, unemployment, EAP, along with property, liability, workers' compensation, catastrophic coverage, contractual risk management and associated claims and loss control services; management and coordination of safety activities to ensure implementation of safety initiatives throughout the organization and support of management in the implementation of safety solutions to enhance operational performance; and contract review to maximize favorable indemnity language for the Tribe.
Compensation
The B/RM Division is also involved in compensation plan management and related policy development. This includes compliance with all Uniform Tribal Classification and Pay System (UTCPS) policies and procedures; development and maintenance of compensation tables and other systems-related functions; coordination of updates to the UTCPS to include management of outside consultants and internal project teams; and compliance with all employment contracts initiated by any Tribal entity.
Human Resource Management System
The B/RM Division is responsible for development and oversight of the Human Resources Management System (HRMS) including resolution of system/data issues, strategies and implementation of revisions to the HRMS application or its data, oversight of the process by which updates are made to the HRMS, development of new applications within the product and system security to maximize internal control over data.
Internal Audit and Information Security
The B/RM Division is assigned internal audit oversight with regard to specific areas of the organization, as outlined by senior management, which include compliance with organizational and external policies and procedures, laws and regulations; oversight of the preparation of reports and applications required by law to be filed with federal and state agencies, such as Internal Revenue Service, Department of Labor and other regulatory agencies; oversight of initiatives to protect corporate data, to include security initiatives initiated by divisional Information Technology staff.
