The Recreation and Athletics Program provides opportunities for children to develop patience, discipline, responsibility and healthy lifestyles through team activities, exercise and other sport skill development activities. Participation in these activities also allows children and youth to build confidence, self-esteem and increase their leadership knowledge and ability through interaction with others.
Currently, the program provides opportunities for children and youth to participate in basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball, flag football, soccer and karate. However, the program is always looking to add new choices to the opportunities available at Recreation and Athletics.
The Recreations and Athletics Program also administers the Tribe's Youth Activities Fund which provides funding for Muckleshoot children and youth which offsets the expense of enrollment in sports and other extracurricular and co-curricular activities and to assist with the purchase of the equipment needed to participate. Through the Adult Athletic Sponsorship Program, funds may also be available for adult sports league participation through team sponsorship.
