Tribal members David D'Ambrosio, Denise Opsahl and Tricia Bagley visited the Native American memorial in Middleton, County Cork, Ireland in July. Along with them were their family members, Erik Opsahl, Addison Opsahl, Sophie Opsahl and Owen Bagley.
The memorial acknowledges a thank you to the Choctaw Nation for their donation of $170.00 (a huge sum at the time) during the Great Famine in Ireland in 1847. Ireland repaid the kindness by donating to the Choctaw people during the covid epidemic.
Council members Anita Mitchell and Louie Ungaro met with DNC Chair Ken Martin.
