On October 1st, 2026, Muckleshoot Tribal members and community members gathered in the foothills of Mount Rainier at the Tribe’s Tomanamus Forest property in Medicine Eagle Flats, for a day of celebration and connection. Community Day offered families the chance to learn about the programs shaping the future of this land while enjoying activities, cultural stations, and the annual delicious salmon lunch.
Throughout the day, families discovered, created, and had fun moving through hands-on learning spaces that highlighted culture and stewardship. From educational exhibits and cultural demonstrations to creative activities and outdoor exploration, each station highlighted the importance of the role every generation plays in preserving Muckleshoot values, knowledge, and traditions.
Youth and families were encouraged to ask questions, build new skills, and deepen their understanding of how traditional teachings and modern conservation efforts work together to care for the land. This annual event provides the space to build knowledge, confidence, and relationships that will guide the next generation as stewards of our homelands.

It's been a long, frustrating hassle for Tribal members, students, workers, or anyone trying to come to Muckleshoot — or go home — over the White River Bridge on State Route 410 between Buckley and Enumclaw.
