Muckleshoot Youth Visit Port of Seattle

The Port of Seattle recently hosted Muckleshoot Indian Tribe youth to gain a better understanding of the Port organization and aviation and maritime internships and jobs. This visit also included an SEA art tour, fun team building exercises and summiting to the top deck at SEA for a birds eye view of the airfield.

This week, the Port hosted Muckleshoot Tribal Members who are currently studying carpentry via the Muckleshoot/Green River Community College program at the Port’s Marine Maintenance North Facility. Students learned more about the Port’s maintenance department, how to progress in skilled labor and they connected with Port’s skilled trade leaders and employees.

The Port of Seattle is grateful for the agreements we have with our local Tribes and we remain committed to attracting Tribal Members to maritime and aviation employment. We also thank the Port of Seattle’s Human Resources Talent Connections Program, Workforce Development Program and the Marine Maintenance Team for providing great experiences that expanded these Tribal horizons.
