National Night Out 2026: MIT Police Department Led a Winning Night of Community Spirit

By Shayna Brown

The Muckleshoot Police Department hosted a successful National Night Out 2026 on Aug. 4, bringing families, youth, and community members together for an evening of connection and fun at the MIT Community Center. The event is held as annual celebration of unity and public safety. It opens the door for greater safety awareness, the opportunity to build stronger relationships with local police and emergency services, and fosters understanding.

Attendees enjoyed a variety of activities, including raffles, community information booths, a lively donut‑eating contest, and interactive police and fire truck displays that were especially popular with kids. The annual basketball game once again drew a big crowd of support, highlighting friendly competition and teamwork with the Muckleshoot Police Department winning 100 to 87.

National Night Out continues to be an important opportunity to connect with local law enforcement in a positive, welcoming environment. This year’s event strengthened relationships, encouraged conversation, and celebrated the shared commitment to safety and community well‑being.

We raise our hands to everyone who came out, volunteered, and helped make the day such a success.
