Seahawks Cheerleaders Bring Dance Clinic to Muckleshoot Youth

By Katie Manzanares

Muckleshoot Youth and teens had the opportunity to learn from Seattle Seahawks cheerleaders during a special dance clinic Monday, Aug. 3, at the Muckleshoot Community Center.

Two Seahawks cheerleaders visited the community to lead participants through a day of dance, movement and fun. A total of 98 Muckleshoot Youth and teens participated, including 61 youth and 37 teens.

Participants were divided into three rotations, with two sessions for youth and one for teens. The clinic welcomed participants of all ages and genders, creating an inclusive environment where everyone was encouraged to get involved, learn and have fun.

The clinic is part of the ongoing partnership between the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe and the Seattle Seahawks, which continues to create opportunities for Muckleshoot youth to engage with the organization. The first clinic was held in 2022.

Beyond learning new moves, the clinic gave participants an opportunity to be active, build confidence and try something they may not have experienced before alongside their friends and peers.

The Tribe and Seahawks are currently working to update programming for Muckleshoot Youth as the Seahawks enter a new season and students prepare for the upcoming school year.

Through continued opportunities like the cheerleader clinic, the partnership brings experiences directly to Muckleshoot Youth and creates positive ways for young people throughout the community to participate.
